YPOWER DC-DC battery charger
The ideal tool for optimally charging batteries of different technologies
Everyone knows a battery charger.
230V AC is connected on one side and the charger generates 12V DC to recharge the battery (s).
But did you know that there are chargers that you plug in 12V or 24V DC, from your alternator for example (or from a battery bank)?
You spontaneously say to yourself: the alternator is already recharging the batteries when the engine is running.
This is partly true, except that your battery is never really 100% recharged, especially when it comes to Lithium.
Indeed, the line losses and the regulators limit the available charging current, whereas a battery must receive a voltage> 14V to allow a complete recharge.
But in reality, the voltage available at its terminals struggles to exceed 13V; if they are not fully charged, they wear out prematurely.
Too bad when you know the costly investment that a LiFE PO4 battery represents ...
CRISTEC therefore offers its YPOWER DC-DC range, made up of 4 x models:
12-12 / 60
12-24 / 30
24-24 / 30
24-12 / 60
Placed after a battery isolator, it charges the service battery by applying an optimal charge curve (i.e. LiFE PO4)
In this configuration, the two batteries charge simultaneously, a way to ensure that the starter battery will also be recharged and that all the current from the alternator will not be absorbed by the very demanding Lithium fleet!
36V and 48V models are expected in the coming months.
