DOMETIC MARINE LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE NEW PRODUCTS AT METS 2014

Leading supplier Dometic Marine is launching a range of new equipment including products which are the first of their kind for the marine industry at this year''s Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) at Amsterdam RAI.

Among the new products on display will be a thermoelectric Cup Cooler, the Smart Touch Integrated Intelligence Control (STIIC) software for remote monitoring and the Dometic variable capacity VARC48 chiller, all of which represent significant innovations in the field of specialised marine equipment.

Dometic will also be introducing the SeaLand ECO Holding Tank Vent Filter and the new XTC series from the range of Dometic Sea Xchange Watermakers - the first and only automatic watermaker to have mechanical redundancy.

Dometic Cup Cooler

The industry''s first thermoelectric refrigerated cup holder for boats, the Dometic Cup Cooler keeps drinks refrigerator-cold, is illuminated with two blue LEDs and can replace most standard cup holders on board pleasure boats or workboats. Boat owners can keep a can, bottle or any appropriately-sized beverage container chilled on even the hottest days, making the last sip even colder than the first.

Dometic Smart Touch Integrated Intelligence Control (STIIC)

The revolutionary Dometic STIIC brings unprecedented monitoring and control of boat systems. The user-friendly embedded plug-n-play software connects a boat''s Dometic systems such as air conditioning, water makers, ice makers, refrigeration systems and more to the STIIC network, and interactively communicates with the boat owner. Accessible from a free mobile app, STIIC allows the user to monitor all their Dometic systems from one location, such as a car or office, via mobile phone, tablet or computer using a WiFi, Ethernet or an RS485 connection. STIIC can be used to check a system''s status, change settings, turn it on, turn it off, or diagnose a problem.

The SeaLand ECO Vent Filter

The SeaLand ECO Vent Filter is a versatile and environmentally friendly filter that removes odours from a boat sanitation system''s holding tank vent line. The innovative new filter design provides the most efficient filtration by forcing more malodorous air to flow through activated charcoal media. It also offers boat owners a one-size-fits-all replacement for existing SeaLand vent filters and is made with 55% less plastic.

Dometic Sea Xchange XTC Series Watermaker

The XTC is the first and only automatic watermaker to have mechanical redundancy and Dometic''s embedded Smart Touch Integrated Intelligence Control (STIIC) interface for remote interactivity via the internet. No other watermaker system lets you override automatic operation and switch to mechanical operation, nor does any other watermaker provide two-way interactive intelligence to monitor, control and troubleshoot your system via the Internet and a free app. The XTC produces up to 2,200 gallons (US)/ 8,328 litres a day of potable water from seawater.

Dometic VARC48 chiller

The Dometic variable capacity VARC48 chiller is the first of its kind to adjust capacity output based on the current load demand. It is highly efficient, providing just the right amount of needed cooling, reducing energy costs and the size of generator needed. Its steady operation maintains a more constant load on the generator. Instead of turning on or off, it speeds up or slows down as needed to produce more or fewer BTUs. Also, there is no in-rush of current when starting, reducing demand on the entire electrical system. The VARC48 also offers Dometic''s embedded Smart Touch Integrated Intelligence Control (STIIC) software.
