The First MIT Working-Class ROV Monew, Accomplished Taiwan Strait Offshore Wind Farm Survey

ROV Monew’s Debut Break a New Record.

DWTEK Working-Class ROV Monew has her debut this Summer, unlocking a new achievement - The first MIT ROV completed the offshore wind farm inspection at Taiwan Strait. Last week we had ROV Monew on Taiwan west offshore, for a general inspection and survey. According to the needs, Monew’s configurable layout was loaded with a special multibeam echosounder, navigation sonar, multiple high-resolution cameras, USBL underwater positioning, and DWTEK self-developed high-resolution cameras and 11 K25 thrusters, for an overall seabed scan, to get a complete underwater graphic. The image result was transmitted to the ROV control container seamlessly and later can be applied to more complex needs, such as research.

Monew reacted perfectly with the special sonar and she proved she can withstand the 2-knot of the Taiwan Strait current. In this mission, we also grouped a 6 personnel team – 1 supervisor, 2 ROV pilots, and 3 ROV technicians, we again, break the record to be the first Taiwan company, that can provide work in 3 slack tides 18-hour shifts on the sea. We fully mobilized for our clients according to each unique work scope, from international logistics to special mission ROV equipment procurement or rental (side scanner sonar, manipulator, a grabber, or more), and even vessel chartering and bunkering. Need a hand? We are at your disposal.
