Monew, the first made-in-Taiwan work-class ROV, derives its name pronunciation from Taiwan’s sea goddess, Mazu, whose Mandarin name is Mo-Niang. Followed and respected by numerous Taiwanese, Mazu is especially in protection of fishermen and sailors in coastal regions. Mazu, born as the name Lin Mo-Niang during the ancient dynasty, was known for her supernatural abilities to predict weather and save sailors from perilous conditions at sea. After her death, she ascended to become a deity, providing protection to fishermen and sailors. As such, she earned the name "Mazu,"literally translated as "Mother Ancestor."

【Safeguard Below-Water Missions】

Embedded in the expectation, akin to Mazu, Monew is anticipated to safeguard below-ocean missions. Empowered by fearless personality and a robust body, she can dive up to 3,000m, equipped with up to 11 powerful thrusters and 2 manipulators, enabling her to undertake a more heavy workload than an observation-class ROV.

Currently, she is deployed at Taiwan’s wind farm located in the western strait, supporting the client's O&M BoP. Prior to this mission, she has already proven herself as a seasoned ROV in wind farms with several subsea working records.
