Exit Carbon Launches HELIOS Customized Carbon Fiber Sun Awning Poles
Italian design firm, Exit Carbon, is pleased to announce the addition of HELIOS Sun Awning Poles to their family of high-end yacht accessories.
HELIOS, a carbon fiber sun awning system specially designed for small to medium boats, consists of carbon fiber poles, fantastic matte finishing, and a set of female deck sockets. The poles are extremely light-weight, easy to set up, and stow anywhere with wall clips. Their simple and affordable elegance adds value to any boat.
“We are always very happy to add new products to our range,” said Giuseppe Bottacin, engineer and owner of Exit Carbon. “HELIOS is an example how we collaborated with our clients to discover a need, find a solution, and in the end create something really special. This product in particular was developed with three different shipyards that produce tenders and inflatables.”
CUSTOMIZED SHADE: The number of poles might typically be 2 to 4 per yacht in Exit Carbon’s signature carbon look or any custom color. With three lengths (150 cm, 175 cm, or 200 cm), two diameters (32 mm or 38 mm), and two angles (0° or 6°), HELIOS fits any stern or bow deck perfectly.
For bigger yachts and superyachts we propose sun awnings with diameters of 60 mm, 100 mm, or 120 mm. Angled sockets follow the line of the boat’s superstructure or widen the cover at shoulder height while keeping a small perimeter on deck. Awning ropes attach with a simple eye bolt on top or with a Clamcleat ® on the side for adjustable tension.
EASY TO SET UP & STOW: Raising a sun awning has never been easier. So light and simple to use, HELIOS Sun Awning Poles can be quickly set up by any adult on board to instantly create a shady haven. Locked by simple friction, the poles are just as quickly disassembled and stowed against any bulkhead or wall with clips.
STRONG & STURDY: Unlike flimsy stainless steel trusses, HELIOS Sun Awning Poles are quiet because they do not vibrate. Deep female sockets with polymer sleeves for safe fitting provide stable support. With small inertia loads, they can make shade while underway at slow speeds, not just at anchor.
