Get the right sail battens

How can you tell if you have the right sail battens?

Sail appearance under load:
When sailing, the profile should look even. Folds, sharp creases, or an unusually fluttering leech may indicate an incorrect batten or incorrect batten tension.

Not enough profile indicates a too stiff battens
Too much profile, or even an S-shape, indicates a batten that is too soft.
