When an Inquiry Becomes a Passion Project

A special custom-made solution demonstrates what is possible when experience, craftsmanship and a commitment to individual solutions come together.

GRABNER normally builds inflatable boats. But sometimes, special inquiries lead to projects that go far beyond our traditional product range.

With the family’s permission, we are pleased to share the story of Kathi and her family.

The Panholzer family approached GRABNER with a very special request. Their daughter Kathi needs a custom seating solution that can also be transported easily when travelling. Her existing chair was too large and impractical to transport by car.

Following an initial meeting in spring, the development of an individual inflatable seating solution began. Initial ideas were turned into drawings and detailed plans, followed by discussions about specific requirements and, finally, the construction of a prototype.

Our design engineer and the entire team at our production facility in Kirchberg an der Donau, Upper Austria, dedicated themselves to this unusual project with great commitment and technical expertise. Step by step, a solution was developed to meet the individual needs of Kathi and her family.

In June, the time finally came: the finished custom-made solution was handed over to Kathi and her family.

For us, this project is something truly special. It shows that a standard solution is not always the right answer. Sometimes, what is needed are people who listen, think along, try things out and work together to turn an idea into reality.

We are very pleased that our many years of experience with inflatable products, our craftsmanship and our passion for finding practical solutions enabled us to create a suitable solution for Kathi.

A project that once again reminded us how much can be achieved when a special request meets genuine commitment.
