Achievement- Haixing supplied the full suite of lighting equipment for 24,000 TEU Dual-Fuel Powered Container Ship
World’s first and largest 24,000 TEU Dual-Fuel Powered Container Ship sailed out in Shanghai
On April 15, the world’s first and largest 24,000 TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel powered ultra-large container ship, the CMA CGM SEINE, was named and delivered at the Changxing Island shipbuilding base in Shanghai. Built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), for France’s CMA CGM Group, the vessel is set to commence service on the Far East-Europe route on April 18. This milestone further solidifies CSSC’s leading position in the global ultra-large dual-fuel container ship sector and highlights China’s growing influence and competitiveness in shipbuilding, thanks to its independently developed advanced manufacturing system encompassing R&D, design, construction, and supporting technologies.
As the world’s largest dual-fuel container ship to date, the CMA CGM SEINE features an LNG-powered design, with its standout innovation being a unique "green heart"—an 18,600 cubic meter MARK III membrane-type fuel tank. The LNG stored onboard provides enough "green power" for a single voyage of nearly 20,000 nautical miles. The vessel meets the world’s most stringent emission standards, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 20%, nitrogen oxide (NOₓ) emissions by up to 85%, and particulate matter (PM) and sulfur oxide (SOₓ) emissions by 99% compared to conventional fuel-powered ships, significantly minimizing environmental impact.
Our company, Haixing, is honored to have supplied the full suite of lighting equipment for this colossal vessel. We extend our sincere gratitude to the shipowner and shipyard for their trust and support in our marine lighting solutions. This opportunity has allowed us to showcase our product excellence, and we look forward to further collaborations in the future as we navigate toward broader horizons in the global market.
