Halyard provides silencing solution for Maltese Ferries

Exeter Maritime Services won the contract for the build of the two ferries and brought in a number of local suppliers to support the build, including Halyard who supplied the shipyard with state of the art dual chamber silencers for the ferries exhaust systems.

The ferries, Topcat One and Topcat Two, will provide commuter and tourist links to Valletta across the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour.

With capacity for up to 160 people, it was essential the vessels were comfortable for passengers. Halyard assisted by ensuring the ferries'' exhausts were noise and vibration free with its innovative dual chamber silencers.

The first of the two ferries has already arrived in Malta where it was inaugurated by Malta''s Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Joe Mizzi. The second ferry has recently been completed and is expected to arrive in Malta in mid-February 2015.
