MAN engines for the latest luxury yacht from Riviera Australia

Riviera 68 Sports Motor Yacht to be powered by MAN V12 engines. compact, quiet engine.

MAN Engines' marine diesel engines are continuing their success story in luxury yachts and sport fishing boats. Australia’s most awarded motor yacht builder Riviera Yachts is equipping its brand-new 68 and 72 Sports Motor Yacht models with V12 diesel engines from MAN Engines. Customers have the choice of the V12-1550 or V12-1800 models, as well as MAN Engines' most powerful marine engine available on the market at the moment: the V12-1900. The twin-engine systems provide 1,140 kW (1,550 hp), 1,324 kW (1,800 hp) or 1,397 kW (1,900 hp) twice-over. Riviera exports around 55% of annual production internationally and has been the largest selling exporter in the Australian marine industry for the last two years. “We have been relying on MAN engines for a long time for a number of reasons. Their reliability, torque and the engines' compactness, as well as the manufacturer's after sales care is our primary focus,” says Stephen Milne, Brand and Communications Director at Riviera. "MAN engines provide added value for both owners and boat builders. They are also available in several different power classes, which fit perfectly into our new Sports Motor Yacht collection and the 77 Enclosed Flybridge – the high-performance flagship of the renowned Riviera fleet," says Milne.

Riviera's latest luxury yacht, available in lengths of 68 and 72 feet (21 and 22 metres), has been completed after two years of research and design work. The shipyard says that the 68 Sports Motor Yacht with MAN engine was premiered in August at the Sydney International Boat Show and will have her European premiere at the upcoming Yachting Festival Cannes in September. Two yachts have been launched and a further four are now under construction with more to come over the next twelve months at the Commera Queensland yard.

MAN engine options provide top results in the propulsion of the new Riviera Sports Motor Yacht. In addition, the compact dimensions and quiet running of all MAN marine engines provide additional comfort both inside and outside the yacht, and live up to the exacting requirements of the luxury sector. Milne states that he has already received eleven orders from Europe, Australia and the United States.
