MARINE TRAVELIFT INC. ANNOUNCES INTRODUCTION OF NEW M2300 MARINER FORKLIFT

Indeed, marine forklifts often can be the best tool for certain boat-handling situations. Given the continued increasing pressure on marine facilities to maximize the use of space at their waterfront properties, many operations are now using “dry stack” storage. Enter the marine forklift.

“Using a marine forklift and dry-stack storage, you can enhance the efficiency and profitability of your operation,” noted Jason Johnson, Marine Travelift''s North American sales manager. “And, as boats continue to grow in size, marinas have a real need for a forklift that can handle a greater-capacity load and allow the longitudinal center of gravity to be at a greater distance from the mast.”

So the Marine Travelift team did what it does best. It came up with an innovative solution based on valuable customer feedback, and it engineered and manufactured the M2300. This new marine forklift will help marinas adapt to the larger vessels they now need to move and store; it maintains full lift capacity with the load center measured farther from the mast than previous industry standard. This model also will continue to provide the superior performance and serviceability that Marine Travelift''s other marine forklift models have proven to deliver.

“We feel the new M2300 is going to be the right solution for a marina or storage facility dealing with a wide variety of vessels in a dry-stack storage situation,” Johnson said.

The new M2300 is available with options such as galvanized forks and a galvanized carriage for superior corrosion resistance; various mast heights; engine shutdown gauges; and a cold-start package that will help operators get to work right away in chilly weather.

Marine Travelift has been in the marine forklift business for nearly 25 years. A Florida-based customer purchased its first marine forklift, Model 1150, in 1990; the company launched its F series in late 1991 with the F270.

A year later, with the purchase of the Liftall Mariner line from Gradall, Marine Travelift started its M series. Gradall manufactured two F65s and four F150s for the Sturgeon Bay-based manufacturer; Marine Travelift then introduced the M2000 in the late 1990s and the M2000S in the mid-2000s. Additional models currently available include the M1500 and M2500.

Marine Travelift''s proven history and performance in the forklift business has made it a valuable partner in the marine industry. Since last fall, it has delivered multiple marine forklifts to marinas around the country, with more scheduled later this year.
