Comparative, 13 opening pulleys... what are they for?

It is an optional pulley, which quickly becomes indispensable once adopted on board.

With textile fasteners

The cheapest and lightest.

Light with its all-composite body (cheeks and sheave), but logically with one of the smallest working loads of this comparison. 350 kg, that's what the double ball bearings in anti-UV resin of the PO 40 can handle, it's already remarkable. The PO 40 is mainly designed for a 14m2 sail, according to the French boat builder's catalog, so it is more suitable for light sails and small boats. Attention, they are sometimes delivered without connector, allowing boaters to choose between a shackle or a loop in Nodex R2 (a type of Dyneema). The model is shown here with a Dyneema T-shackle. The rotation in both directions of the cheeks is a bit hard on this new model. Be careful when closing it not to jam the textile shackle which is not held by loops. The alignment and the locking of the cheeks are guaranteed by a small pin that you will have to make sure to secure on the textile shackle not to lose it.
