Specialist Wind Vessels 2016

Conference organiser ACI has announced Hamburg, Germany as the host city for its third Operating Specialist Wind Vessels Conference, taking place on the 5th & 6th of October 2016.

With a drive towards renewable forms of energy, the last few years has seen huge investment on a European wide scale in creating large wind farms off the coast of a number of European countries.

The result has been the need for a specialised fleet of vessels to install and service these wind farms. The need to transfer both equipment and manpower in a safe and efficient manner has led to calls for more stringent health & safety guidelines and industry wide debate on how best to operate to increase ROI for wind vessel operators.

This two day event promises to give in-depth analysis on operational techniques used within this specialised area, give details on developments in safety management for the vessels and CTVs, provide direct feedback from the vessel operators and the windfarm developers on projects, as well as key insights into design features and equipment for O&M, installation and construction of wind farms.

Key Topics are set to include: Hotspots for wind projects and vessels and global offshore wind project developments, project and vessel case studies, defining & advancing capabilities, heavy lift vessels and governance & regulation.

ACI says that delegates will consist of senior representatives from: Windfarm developers, Wind vessel owners and operators, Heavy lift & engineering vessel owners and contractors, OEMS, technology and service providers.
