Spotted: Damen Gives a Makeover to CN Bulkers’ Newcomers

The Sanna stands tall as it boasts its freshly painted hull following completion of maintenance and survey works at Dutch shipbuilder Damen.

The bulker was refitted within a project that included four bulk carriers recently bought at auction by Dutch shipping company CN Bulkers.

The scope of the works included 5-year special surveys for three of the ships and a 15-year survey for the fourth. Each underwent a thorough cleaning and repainting below the waterline, and some assorted blasting and painting on the topsides.

The vessels ranging from 16,000 to 17,000 dwt had not been dry-docked since 2012.

Two of the vessels were ready for sea by mid-February, the second by 24th of the same month and the last left the dock on 8 March.

The vessels were given new names – the Sotra, Sanna, Senja and Silda, respectively.
