Sanlorenzo's two new 52m superyachts moved to new shipyard

The first two models in the Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo’s 52steel line have been moved from Viareggio to La Spezia, the shipyard has today announced.

The move comes after the recent signing of an agreement for the rental of the new premises in La Spezia’s Cantieri San Marco, with the third and fourth hull in Sanlorenzo’s 460Exp range also scheduled to arrive at the new shipyard within the next three weeks.

The new production site in La Spezia will allow for the design and production of metal yachts ranging from 40 to 80 metres, with plans to also open a new refitting area dedicated to large vessels.

The company’s headquarters will remain in the Ameglia shipyard located close to La Spezia, whilst the Sanlorenzo premises in Viareggio will now continue to focus on the production of 112 to 126 feet fibreglass yachts, taking advantage of the new spaces made available as a consequence of the relocation.

Commenting on the relocation and expansion of their facilities, Sanlorenzo comment: “Sanlorenzo, through this strategic expansion decision, re-asserts the company’s constant growth in the last three years.”
