THE CHAMPIONS’ CATAMARANS

For nearly a quarter of a century, the Trophée Clairefontaine has had thousands of spectators dreaming, by presenting short, very spectacular regattas in nautical stadiums, as close to the boats as possible

Aboard these 7.65-metre, one-design catamarans, designed by VPLP, 72 sailing champions have followed one another in 24 editions... For the record, Loïck Peyron, with 7 victories, remains the Champion of Champions, ahead of Michel Desjoyeaux (4 victories) and Franck Cammas and his 3 victories!

Recently put up for sale, the Trophée Clairefontaine catamaran fleet has found a buyer, and is now going to be used for match race training, as well as the organization of corporate regattas for companies, discovery cruises in the Golfe du Morbihan, France, or raids in the Iles du Ponant.

Because the fleet of COD 25s (Catamaran One Design) is now based at Lorient, but can easily travel in a container... And why not dream of a new Trophée des Champions de Voile in Lorient, from 2015?
