AROUND THE WORLD SINGLEHANDED AND ON A SPORT CATAMARAN

Yvan Bourgnon is continuing his adventure around the world on his little sport catamaran, which has no accommodation...

After the departure from France (there were then two of them aboard) the sailor continued his adventure singlehanded, following a disagreement (apparently financial) with Vincent Beauvarlet, and crossed the Atlantic singlehanded in difficult conditions. Upon arrival in Martinique, he had to repair his damaged boat before setting off again to reach Panama after ‘a nice sail’ – according to the skipper – which lasted 6 days and a few hours, and included a fright following a capsize in the middle of the night, numerous squalls and winds reaching 45 knots in the gusts...

Next leg: passing through the mythical Panama Canal, then the Galapagos, and finally the longest passage of this round the world trip, to Polynesia.
