MYS 2018: Fincantieri presents new 106m superyacht concept Mirage

Italian shipyard Fincantieri presented a brand new superyacht concept yesterday on the first day of the Monaco Yacht Show. Named Mirage, she has been developed in close collaboration with Dutch design studio Van Geest Design.

Measuring 106-metres, Mirage has a draught of 4.25 metres and comes in at 4,200 GT. On board, she accommodates 14 guests across seven cabins, as well as a crew of 29.

Tracey-Jayne Canavaggio of Van Geest Design explains the design philosophy behind the new concept: “Mirage was designed to bind seemingly opposite and contrary forces being complementary, interconnected, and interdependent. One is to anchor its presence in the landscape, the other is to disappear by reflecting its surroundings.”

Daniele Fanara, Senior Vice President Newbuilding Mega Yacht at Fincantieri adds: “Fincantieri yachts are outstanding quality products: the result of a special synergy between advanced technical, design and construction capabilities. The challenge at the heart of every new project is creating something unique as to concept and execution. We believe that Mirage perfectly fits this goal.”
