CES EXHIBITS FIRST EVER YACHT

Hong Kong-based Furrion has exhibited its customised Numarine yacht at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas - the first time ever that a yacht has appeared at the show.

The Adonis is a 78ft yacht at its core but the technology specialist has altered it well beyond its basic form with the showpiece being its new personal assistant, Angel.

Matt Fidler, co-founder and chief marketing office for Furrion said the year was an exciting one for the company. “Kicking it off at the world’s largest technology trade event with the induction of Adonis and Angel certainly makes a statement,” he said.

Smart yacht

The new artificial intelligence concierge can deliver news and weather, order food as well as control music and television. It uses facial recognition to learn personal preferences and is accessed via smart mirrors in the bedrooms which become touch screens when prompted with a ‘Hi Angel’.

The system also provides security for the US$5m yacht, including control of a drone docked on the top deck. It can operate online or through a closed network if internet access is unavailable.
