WELSH SHOW EXPANDS AND MOVES
The All-Wales Boat Show is to have a new home and a new name for 2019.
The event – renamed the All-Wales Boat and Leisure Show – will take place at the Anglesey Showground from May 20 to June 1.
Organiser, Davina Carey-Evans, says Anglesey is the perfect setting.
“The All-Wales Boat Show has evolved and grown and the 2019 event will also include a strong leisure element,” she said.
“Moving the show to Anglesey showground will hopefully be a catalyst for our plan to turn the island into a major events hub.”
Great outdoors
She added: “The show will connect together industry leaders in boat and leisure products and services across Wales, with not only watersport and boating enthusiasts but all those that have a passion for the great outdoors.
“The level of interest from the marine sector is unprecedented for the next event, with over 17 of the best-known brands already signed up.”
Growth area
The event is aimed at middle of the market boating enthusiasts plus kayakers, surfers, wakeboarders and scuba divers rather than high-end multi-millionaire yachtsmen, said Davina.
And she pointed out that the marine sector is a growth area in Wales with boating generating an annual tourism spend of £282m.
The All-Wales Boat Show has previously taken place in Conwy and Pwllheli.
