65m Benetti Rahil begins five month KRM refit

The 65 metre BenettiRahil has arrived at the Turkish yard KRM to undergo an five-month refit.

The yacht, which was designed inside and out by RWD, arrived at the yard early last month and is scheduled to undergo an extensive programme of works. This includes the renewing of the teak deck, electrical upgrades and general maintenance of all systems, including the exhaust, pumps and main engines.

Various repainting will take place alongside the upgrades of the inside sliding doors and air ventilation systems. Rahil's annual Lloyd's Register classification will also be renewed.

KRM general director Kerem Baser said he was “proud” Rahil’s owners had chosen the yard to carry out the refit. “It is proof we are ready to undergo all projects with our experienced project managers, in-house teams and best subcontractors in this area.”He described KRM as “the first and only company specialising in superyacht refits in Turkey.”

Delivered in 2011, Rahil can accommodate up to 10 guests and 10 crew members, and features a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks.

Powered by a pair of Diesel Caterpillar 4520hp engines, Rahil has a top speed of 15 knots.

Other refits currently underway at the yard include a six month refit of 32 metre Sanlorenzo Polar Star and six month refit of 38 metre Heesen Let it Be.
