Perini Navi launches 25m Eco Tender

Italian yard Perini Navi has launched its first 25 metre all-aluminium Eco Tender.

The motor yacht was launched at a ceremony attended by yard chief executive Lamberto Tacoli. When delivered, the yacht will be used as a supplementary vessel for a client who also owns a 52 metre Perini Navi sailing yacht.

The yard described the tender as "effectively a mini superyacht tailored to the requests of her experienced Perini Navi owners”.Speaking about the tender, Luca Boldrini, sales director of motor yachts at Perini Navi, previously explained: “The project grew out of discussions for a bigger sailing boat. What they really wanted was more flexible cabin space to accommodate single guests or children. As they prefer to anchor offshore, they also wanted to explore closer inshore in something more substantial than a conventional RIB.”

The resulting super tender design inherits the Perini Navi style with graceful looks and comfortable interiors. Her lines come courtesy of the Italian yard’s in-house head of design, Franco Romani and the high bulwarks mean that guests will be able to step straight onto the mothership.

Speaking at the launch, Tacoli said: "The classic exterior styling of the Eco Tender shares the same family feeling as Perini Navi’s historic sailing fleet, right down to the dark blue hull and red load line."

He added: "As a boat designed and built with a yacht mentality that mirrors all the high-quality hallmarks of Perini Navi, this cutting-edge tender breaks new ground as the brand continues to refine its product range to meet the evolving demands of the market.”Accommodation is for up to six guests split between three staterooms, including a full-beam VIP suite, a double cabin and a bunk bed cabin, while the compact crew quarters can accommodate two people. Key features include a contemporary interior décor and a sunken foredeck seating area, which allows the owner to pursue his other passions of bird watching and nature photography.

Power will come from a diesel-electric drivetrain that comprises a pair of 1,627hp MAN engines twinned to Hamilton waterjets for a top speed of more than 30 knots. The owner can also opt for a zero-emission mode that uses a battery bank to power the waterjets — ideal for exploring marine parks or other environmentally sensitive areas.Boldrini describes this system as a “first”, adding that the impetus came from the nature-loving owner, who has a “huge respect for the environment”.

Other hybrid superyacht projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the 42 metre E-volution, which was also recently launched.
