2019 EUROPEAN COMMERCIAL MARINE AWARDS WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs) winners were announced during a packed ceremony held at the Golden Arrow Marine Restaurant on site at Seawork.

The awards evening begun with the announcement of the Innovations Showcase Category Award winners, sponsored by National Maritime and HSSMI. The Innovations Showcase gives exhibitors the opportunity to showcase the latest in equipment, services, projects and vessels introduced in the past 12 months. The overall ‘Spirit of Innovation’ Award went to WorkFloat for their floating work platform.

Further Innovations Category Awards went to Baltic Workboats AS in the Vessel Design & Construction category for the Patrol Vessel Baltic Patrol 45 WP Hybrid; Cox Powertrain in the Marine Power category for their CXO300 diesel outboard engine; Fugro in the Renewable Energy category for their 1st UK Wind Farm Decommissioning; MMG Welding in the Marine Equipment, Electronics & Materials winner for their Compact Gangway Systems; Kongsberg GeoAcoustics Ltd in the Diving & Underwater Technology category for their GeoPulse USV; and Shakespeare – SM Group Ltd in the Safety & Training category for Shakespeare Galaxy – INFL8.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to John Bonafoux – BMT. The Maritime Professional of the Year Award, sponsored by MHO-Co and presented by Mik Henriksen, CEO of MHO-Co, went to Mark Ranson of the National Workboat Association. The Marine Sustainability award, presented by Malcolm Stewart, Marine Trade Manager - A-Plan Marine Insurance, was awarded to RE: Soilstone for their ‘Soilstone Sustainable Coastal Embankment’ product. The Young Person Development Award was presented to Lauren Hounsome of South Shields Marine School.

This year Seawork welcomed the co-location of the Marine & Coastal Civil Engineering Expo (M&CCE), as well as the new M&CCE Best Project Award. Sponsored by Finch Consulting and presented by Dominic Barraclough - Managing Director, the award went to Kaymac Marine and Civil Engineering Ltd for the work completed on the Swansea Tawe Barrage project.
