DLBA Presents 45 Metre "Radical" Explorer Yacht Concept

Naval architect studio DLBA has presented its latest concept; a 45 metre “truly radical” hybrid explorer yacht named 7Oceans.

The explorer features a hull based on DLBA’s propriety hull form, resulting in a yacht that is “quick, beautiful and capable of high-speed transits and efficient cruising.”

The diesel-electric propulsion package provides a top speed of 25 knots and cruising speed of 16 knots and results in reduced fuel consumption, emissions, noise and maintenance cost.

DLBA has also ensured the explorer meets the IMO Tier 4 emission regulations, meaning owners will have unrestricted access to protected areas.

The yacht’s green credentials go beyond the engine room however, extending to the materials used in the décor. Old growth hardwoods have been replaced with the more sustainable material of bamboo. Meanwhile, natural leathers have been used to avoid the use of man-made materials.

The yacht is also able to recover heat waste from the generators and use it to provide hot water. LED lighting features throughout and flat panel satellite antennas reduce the weight on the mast.

Elsewhere, the yacht is equipped with both Veem gyrostabilisers and a Humphree Active Ride Control interceptor system to reduce roll and motion while cruising.

Accommodation on board is for a total of eight guests in two VIPs and two singles on the lower deck and the owner’s suite on the main deck. The crew accommodation accommodates a staff of nine; eight in four lower deck crew cabins and one captain’s cabin next to the wheelhouse. The crew area also includes a galley/lounge and laundry.

Elsewhere, the yacht features a lower deck beach club, dedicated tender deck and Jacuzzi on the flybridge.

The yacht will feature natural interior materials
