Kingship Marine Launches New King Cat 80

Hong-Kong based shipyard Kingship Marine has launched the first King Cat 80, a 24-metre catamaran designed by Ivan Erdevicki of ER Yacht Design. The aluminium-hulled motor yacht has been designed specifically with the Asian market in mind and features a Chinese-style interior layout complemented by the oriental décor on board.

The King Cat 80 has been built to fully comply with Chinese regulatory standards for yachts as well as Lloyd’s SSC requirements. Intended for daily lake cruises, the catamaran comprises two enclosed decks and a full beam flybridge shaded by a bimini top.

Below, a formal dining table for 14 guests functions as the centrepiece of the main deck. A spacious saloon complete with a flat-screen TV and drinks bar, a tea lounge and gaming tables offers relaxation areas on board. Interior spaces are complemented by impressive Chinese paintings and gold finishes throughout. An additional socialising and lounging area can be found on the flybridge.Powered by twin 300 hp engines, the King Cat 80 has reached a top speed of 19.5 knots during sea trials. Kingship Marine is already working on the design for an ocean-cruising version of the King Cat 80, which would feature a higher cross deck and deeper hulls, while the two-deck model is available for immediate construction.

The main saloon features Chinese-inspired decor.
