NEW RACING SAIL FROM ROLLY TASKER

Rolly Tasker Sails will be showing its latest development at boot Düsseldorf – Lite Skin – a new laminate sail for the club racer or performance-oriented cruising sailor.

The new performance Lite Skin laminate has been designed by sailcloth manufacturer, Dimension-Polyant (USA). Compared with modern membrane sails, Lite Skin laminate is designed to stand up to UV and humidity stresses for longer and is less sensitive to delamination. Its long life-cycle means that even once its racing days are over, the sails is still good enough to be used as a back-up, cruising or delivery sail.

Increased resistance

The laminate has an external layer made up of a random array of non-woven polyester filaments and Dimension-Polyant UVt finish coating. This is said to result in reduced film shrinkage, increased UV and chafe resistance, opaque technical appearance and reduced water absorption.

The sails come in a polyester version for smaller boats and in an Aramid version for yachts up to 40ft. A laminate with identical properties for larger vessels up to 4ft is currently in development.
