GLASTRON GT207

Glastron's GT207 is an affordable, nimble, jet-powered watercraft.

The latest, largest jet-powered boat from Glastron, the GT207 is a bigger, beefier version of the GT187, which has proved popular with boaters and underlines Glastron’s focus on offering affordable jet-powered watercraft.

The GT207 carries a full 8 feet of beam atop Glastron’s heralded SSV performance hull. The cockpit offers best-in-class spaciousness, due primarily to the Rotax 4-TEC jet system, which is longer and significantly lower than other types, allowing room for cockpit passenger seating over the engine. The oversize cockpit area offers thickly padded U-shaped lounge seating aft that complements a pair of plush, comfort-ride bucket seats. A sleek but substantial roadster-style, walk-through, wraparound windshield protects all. The helm is fitted with custom gauges, and unique push-pull switches fit into a dash panel that remains in full view and easy reach, even from atop the optional seat bolster. Underfoot, there is an oversize, in-sole stowage locker for wakeboards, water skis and related gear.

Additional seating with plenty of legroom is offered at the 207’s ample transom, accessed from the cockpit via a walk-through with slip-proof flooring — and no cushions — underfoot. The easy aft access leads to full-size seating with angled backrests overlooking a full-width, low-profile extended swim platform with a hideaway, telescopic three-step ladder, creating a spacious wakeboard prep or general water-sports staging area.

Glastron offers the GT207 with Rotax power options ranging from 200 to 250 hp. Our tester featured maximum power, and we raced to 25 mph in 6.25 seconds and topped 43 mph on one test run. The boat proved nimble and responsive, even when conditions got blustery.

Glastron’s GT207 comes standard with a custom-matched trailer complete with integrated, diamond-plate step pads, transom strap buckles, brakes, fold-away tongue and jack, and LED lighting. Priced at $34,400, this is the most affordable, full-size, jet-powered, water-sports “playboat” package on the market.

*With a pair of big, broad seats facing the action aft, the transom will be a popular place with passengers.

*Compared with engines in other jet-powered boats, the low-profile Rotax 4-TEC allows incredible depth and capacity to the cockpit seating.
