Moran & Amels announce sale of new Amels 60 project Witchcraft

In their fifth collaboration since 2010, Moran Yacht & Ship and Dutch yacht builder Amels will be working on a new Amels 60 superyacht codenamed project Witchcraft.

Construction on this second Amels 60 project is already underway which is expected to be ready for delivery in 2022. After negotiating the build contract and writing the project’s technical specifications, Moran will oversee the entire build process on behalf of the client.

Witchcraft is the second unit in the new Amels 60 range of Limited Editions superyachts designed by Espen Øino while the 830 GT of interiors onboard will be completed by a designer as selected by the owner. Described by Amels as ‘light and airy’, the interiors feature large main deck windows amplifying the spaciousness in this part of the yacht.

Sean Moran comments, “We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the team at Amels for their assistance in the sale of project Witchcraft and we look forward to working with them throughout the build.”

Together with Øino, the Amels design team invested heavily in the new model’s naval architecture alongside the in-house Damen Research Laboratory - who also pioneered the streamlined full displacement hull. Fitted with a hybrid-electric propulsion and power system, the Amels 60 includes an energy storage system and a Tier III compliant main engine and generator filters. When in eco-cruising mode, she can reach up to 4,500 nautical miles when travelling at 13 knots.

Outside, standout features include a 1,744 square foot sundeck, touch-and-go helipad, nine-metre tender stowed on the foredeck and a large swim platform for days of endless fun spent at anchor.
