First Princess X95 launched in Plymouth

First revealed in 2018 as an exciting new long-range model in the British builder's superyacht lineup, the hard work behind the scenes on Princess Yachts’ secretive new-generation X95 project finally took shape last week as the vessel was unveiled for the first time in Plymouth at the Princess shipyard.

This new ‘Superfly’ class of yacht is the design work of British naval architecture office Olesinski and Italian design house Pininfarina.

The studios worked together to design a contemporary yet functional yacht with adventure in mind for owners who wish to spend significant time aboard and explore cruising grounds further afield. The X95's new hull designed in partnership with Olesinski evolves the deep-V concept to provide 15% improved efficiency with additional stability in all sea conditions.

The X95 is equipped with a wave-piercing bow that extends the waterline forward and provides a fine, high deadrise entry. The benefits of this bow shape are further enhanced by extending the hull surfaces aft under the bathing platform. As a result, the hull will transition smoothly from highly efficient low cruising speeds to maximum speed whilst maintaining optimum trim angle and ride comfort in all sea conditions.

Thanks to the 'Super Flybridge' concept, the layout provides 10% more outdoor space and 40% more indoor space than a traditional motor yacht and mirrors recent innovations from luxury automotive brands who have developed crossover models, according to the shipyard. In total, the Super Flybridge stretches almost 22 metres, more than double the length of a typical flybridge on a yacht this size.

The lengthened main deck creates room for a particularly spacious galley and dinette area and can alternatively be built as a luxurious master suite or observation lounge. As standard, all guest accommodations are located on the lower deck, with the master stateroom taking the midships full-beam position with two twin and one double VIP suite all placed forward.

Powered by two MAN V12 engines, the X95 has a maximum speed range of 24-26 knots. The vessel was created with longer voyages in mind and comes equipped with a long-distance 13,400-litre fuel tank to facilitate this.
