Sixth Amels Limited Edition 242 hull launched in Romania

Currently listed as a yacht for sale, the hull of the sixth unit in the Amels Limited Edition 242 range has been launched at the Damen facility in Romania.

Now ready for outfitting, the 74-metre Amels 242 is set to be delivered during the autumn of 2021 and sports an exterior design by Tim Heywood.

The 1,790 GT superyacht has been built with a 240 square-metre owner’s deck with a 6.5-metre infinity pool, full-beam wellness centre and folding beach platform. Up to 12 guests will be accommodated across two main-deck VIP suites and three lower-deck suites, all of which will be decorated to the custom design of the owner. Once completed and launched, the new superyacht will cruise at 15 knots up to a range of 5,000 nautical miles and reach a top speed of 16.5 knots.

Despite the coronavirus crisis, Managing Director Rose Damen, of Amels and Damen in the Netherlands explained during a recent SuperYacht Times Webinar that the yards will remain operational: “It is a busy time of the year and we are delivering nine projects. The projects are at the yard and we are continuing our work on these but taking into account the measures that we have to take as a company and a country to ensure the health of our clients and employees.”
