Inside Riva's 50m Made-In-Italy superyacht Race

Having set free their brand-new flagship from her shed almost one year ago, Riva has granted a look inside the 50-metre superyacht Race.

Having named the new Riva 50 Metri to suit their lifestyle, the owner chose to completely customise the interior layout and decor of Race together with designer Mauro Micheli of Officina Italiana Design and Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee on hand.

Built with the philosophy that all those on board should have an all-encompassing experience of the sea, Race comes with a comfortable five-deck layout that makes the most of her nine-metre beam and keeps guests surrounded by uninterrupted views, thanks to full-length flowing windows.

The main deck is home to a port-side lounge area with a large eight-seat leather sofa, facing TV and dining area with a showstopping glass and steel table. Moving towards the bow to starboard, a mirrored door leads into the lobby and the owner’s suite. Spanning more than 70 square metres, the owner has customised the space into three distinct zones: a study at the entrance, a private lounge with media room to port and a large sleeping area forward. Furnished with comfortable sofas and two walk-in closets, the suite also has his-and-her bathrooms, a double bed and vanity area.

Minimalist grey tones dominate the decor, with alternating mahogany and steel trims combined with leather and marble. White marble flooring is decorated occasionally with large rugs and accentuated by the full-custom lighting system - one of the many sophisticated systems onboard from Videoworks - and its steel-bodied lights, LEDs and home automation system. Statuarietto type marble makes the surfaces of the coffee tables, which are embellished with polished steel.

The remaining guests are accommodated for in the four guest suites, three double and one twin, situated on the lower deck. Each with a private en-suite bathroom, the guest staterooms are designed with typical Riva stylings including mahogany slats, custom door handles and leather accents found along the edges of the beds and wardrobes.

The spacious beach club is equipped with two hatches that can be used as balconies over the water and serves as a garage for a Williams Dieseljet 625 tender. The bow features a large sunpad, which is also the openable hatch that covers a second garage for the rescue boat and toys. The 120-square-metre sundeck is dominated by a sunbathing and lounge area with four sun loungers, sofas, a pop-up TV with a swivel system, a dining table and barbecue. On the bow side, guests can make use of the hydromassage pool.

Aft of the upper deck cockpit, guests can relax outdoors in the custom selection of lounging furniture, which has been specially constructed from lightweight Nomex® materials, or move forward and gather around the Corian table for an alfresco dining experience. Whilst in this space, guests have the option of shelter thanks to the two electric side windscreens. Another living area can be found in the interior space of this deck, which is complemented by a buffet unit and wine cellar. The upper deck is also home to the bridge where the owner has installed side seats in order to observe mooring manoeuvres and the views whilst cruising along with an innovative I-Bridge® solution with multi-control and 38” HD display from Team Italia.

With a gross tonnage of less than 500 GT, Race was installed with twin MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines with 1000 kW output at 1800 rpm and propeller propulsion that is able to reach a top speed of up to 15.5 knots and cruising speed of 14 knots. She is classified in first class on the Lloyd’s Register by the MCA and is further certified as second class by RINA, also holding the RINA Green Plus and Comfort Class certifications.
