25th 55m Amels Limited Edition 180 launched: Galene

Over the weekend, Dutch shipyard Amels launched their latest unit from the successful Limited Editions 180 range: the 55-metre yacht Galene.

With an exterior design by Tim Heywood, Galene has a 'calm, light and subtly art-deco inspired' interior by Laura Sessa Romboli with accommodation for up to 12 guests in five staterooms.

Other notable features include her large open sun deck with pool, an owner's suite with folding balcony, extended bridge deck aft and full-beam lounge. Her name derives from Ancient Greek, where Galene means serenity, tranquillity and calmness.

Project manager, Elouise Reiff, comments: “The team did the name Galene justice. I am very proud of the hard work done by everyone involved. Through their efforts, the launch went smoothly and according to plan.”

The new superyacht will be available for charter in the Mediterranean in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter with Y.CO.
