MarineMat names new general manager

Last week, MarineMat named Robby Wellden as general manager.

The company, founded in 2014, manufactures EVA traction mats at their 20,000-square-foot factory in Oldsmar, Fla.

“Mr. Wellden has been an integral employee for years and has brought Marine Mat technical expertise in the areas of CNC gantry machining, laser etching, visual generative CAD algorithms, and adhesive-less polymer bonding. I have confidence that he will take our production and quality control systems to another level,” Marine Mat founder and owner Greg Pickren said in a statement.

Wellden holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech.

Wellden’s promotion comes at an exciting time for Marine Mat. The company latest product — the Fiber Reinforced Stick It Series — will be available in May. According to director of aftermarket operations Brian Schneider, the marine decking “is something that separates us from the rest of the EVA Foam Decking manufacturers. Our FR EVA Foam is super strong and almost impossible to tear, making it more durable and much easier to remove.”

The company is also launching a new web site within the next few weeks.
