For those missing the boat show buzz, Amels and Damen Yachting has announced that the shipyard will host their first three-day private viewing event in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.
Between 17-19 September, invited guests can expect to be offered private viewings in a safe environment of a special selection of around 10 superyachts, including units from the Amels, Yacht Supports and SeaXplorers ranges - plus, the world exclusive preview of the 77-metre La Datcha.
Confirmed to accompany La Datcha on the event line-up so far are two units - one completed and one under construction with a 2021 delivery - of the 74-metre Amels Limited Edition 242 range. The 55.5-metre Blue Ocean will be also on show as the first yacht support vessel by the group to be built with a dedicated main deck hangar.
“It’s great to see how clients have embraced virtual technology during the last few months, but in our business, nothing can replace the opportunity to step on board a selection of fully completed showcase yachts. We’re delighted to offer charter and new-build clients the first chance to join us on board our yachts again since this all began. And by hosting them at our yard, we can ensure maximum comfort, safety and privacy with a very limited number of VIP guests invited,” explains Rose Damen, Managing Director of the recently consolidated Amels and Damen Yachting division.
Rose continues: “This is something we’ve never done before. Together with the yacht crews at our yard, my family and our team are looking forward to welcoming our guests for a very special private visit to the yachts in top presentation with full luxury service. We have a helicopter landing area on-site so our guests and their families can enjoy the experience securely and privately – almost like having a whole boat show just for themselves. And at the same time, we have boats in production right next door for fast delivery in 2021 so it makes the whole decision-making process very transparent for our clients. We’re also missing the boat show buzz, so we’re very excited about making this happen in September.”
Keep up to date with the event as new information is released on the Damen Yachting website and on SuperYacht Times. Private viewing is by invitation only and there is no general admission to the yard during the event.
