Alpha Marine unveils 50m Kentaurus concept

Alpha Marine Yacht Designers and Naval Architects have unveiled their latest 49.9-metre superyacht design: Kentaurus.

With an LOA of 49.42 metres and a volume of less than 500 GT, she has the look of a sport yacht combined with the features of an explorer.

With her design aiming to provide the easy circulation of crew while ensuring the utmost privacy for guests, the Kentaurus concept marries a fast, modern and timeless character with lower fuel consumption. This is achieved by optimising the hull and aft shape and instaling 2 Voith Linear Jets which offer greater efficiency in comparison to waterjets.

Standout features on board the Kentaurus concept include her beach club and infinity pool which is located on the main deck aft. With a focus on water sports built into her design, the aft area is equipped with two retractable side platforms transforming it into a beach club with a 180-degree view. In addition, an open bar with numerous seating and sunbathing areas can be found at the bridge deck. Guests looking to kick back and relax can also enjoy her Jacuzzi located at the bow area and enjoy a delicious meal at the dining area towards fore.

Designed to provide ample storage for tenders and toys, Kentaurus also comes equipped with 6.5 and 5 metre RIBs, two wave runners, four sea bobs, two hydrofoil jet surfs and numerous other inflatable toys to help guests to make the most of life on the water.

Kentaurus would provide accommodation for up to 12 guests across six staterooms: an owner’s cabin on the main deck, a VIP, two doubles and two twins on the lower deck. In addition, she would also sleep up to 11 crew across six crew cabins allowing her to be used both as a private and a charter yacht.

Powered by twin 1750 kW engines, the Kentaurus concept would be expected to have an economical speed of 14 knots, a service speed of 18 knots and a maximum speed of 24 knots.
