Latest Horizon FD87 motor yacht launched

Taiwan-based shipyard Horizon Yachts has launched its latest FD87 motor yacht.

Built for a repeat Horizon owner, the FD87 skylounge vessel has been extended in order to accommodate the owner's layout requests and now measures 28.08 metres. With tank testing now complete, the vessel is set to depart the shipyard in June and arrive in the USA in July.

With in-house interior design, her exteriors come from the drawing boards of Dutch studio Cor D. Rover Design. On board, she provides accommodation for up to six guests across three staterooms on the lower deck, including a large, full-beam master suite, with four crew members also accommodated for on board. In addition, as a new feature for this specially extended FD87, the main deck also features a country kitchen design forward.

Power to the all-GRP 187 GT vessel is provided by twin diesel Caterpillar engines with 1136 hp each which allow her to reach a top speed of 17 knots and cruise comfortably at 10 knots.

In other news from Horizon Yachts, the superstructure and hull of the first FD92 Tri-deck superyacht have now been joined. The vessel is expected to launch in July, with an arrival into the US expected for September.
