Steerprop appoints new director of sales and project management

Rauma, Finland, based azimuth propulsion specialist Steerprop has appointed Juho Rekola as its new Director Sales and Project Management, effective June 1.

Rekola has been with Steerprop since 2017, and has a deep knowledge of the company’s products and solutions. He joined the company from Alfa Laval, where he was involved in international marine projects and R&D. At both Steerprop and Alfa Laval, Rekola has been engaged in customer projects to develop solutions for better vessel performance and operational economy

“Shipowners and designers are facing new challenges with tightening legislation and requirements for ship efficiency and emissions regulations,” says Rekola. “This position offers me the opportunity to bring a new perspective to Steerprop and marine propulsion systems and really demonstrate how at Steerprop we can overcome these challenges through our expertise.”
