Cantiere del Pardo acquires VanDutch

Cantiere del Pardo, the Italian builder of Pardo dayboats and Grand Soleil sailboats, have announced an acquisition of Netherlands-based VanDutch, known for its model line of angular, sleek speedsters.

“This exciting acquisition represents a prestigious achievement for both brands, which together can now create a unique luxury yachting experience and take the market to new levels in terms of lifestyle, design, quality and performance,” said Cantiere del Pardo CEO Fabio Planamente in a statement.

Production of the VanDutch model line will be moved to the Cantiere del Pardo shipyard in Forlì, with a ramped-up production schedule to meet the goal of launching three new VanDutch models next year.

The addition of VanDutch looks to give Pardo — who have been building in Forli since 1973 — a leg up in the crowded, luxury dayboat market. VanDutch was founded in 2008.

“The acquisition means that Cantiere del Pardo, alongside VanDutch and Pardo Yachts, assumes a dominant position in the world of luxury boatbuilding,” said Cantiere del Pardo chairman Luigi Servidati, “The strength of the Dutch brand will be further enhanced by the know-how, experience and made-in-Italy pedigree of Cantiere del Pardo.”
