NEW BATTCAR SYSTEM AND REFLEX ACCESSORIES

Harken has released a new 40mm Switch T-Track Battcar system together with new Reflex accessories for cable-free Code Zero sails and forked fittings for asymmetric spinnakers and Code Zero applications.

The 40mm Battcar system joins the 18, 26, 32 and 50mm sizes and is used for monohulls over 43m and multihulls over 27m.

“The 40mm switch system offers a comprehensive product line with many options available to handle mainsails and storm trysails on this popular size range for the recent trend of superyachts,” said Steve Orlebeke, Harken's director of engineering.

The Switch T-Track Battcar system includes cars for inboard batten ends, including specific models designed for high compression loads. It also includes intermediate cars for between battens, cars for reef point locations, and tack cars.

Reflex

Harken's new accessories for cable-free Code Zero sails ensures a speedy and controlled furling. Reflex has proven an effective solution for sails that require less luff-load, without cables. The head swivels and tack plate bases are webbed or sewn directly to each sail. The tack plates are T-shaped, as are all Reflex tack fittings, and slide directly into the Reflex drive unit, allowing one unit to furl multiple sails.

The forked fittings mean that Reflex can be retrofitted to existing asymmetrical or Code Zero sails with cables.
