Fourth Hoek-Designed Truly Classic 128 Launched and Named Halekai

Falmouth based yard Pendennis has launched the fourth hull in the Hoek-designed Truly Classic 128 sailing yacht range.

Now named Halekai meaning “home on the sea”, the 38.8 metre yacht has entered the yard’s wet basin for rig stepping and commissioning ahead of sea trials.

Classically styled, Halekai was designed inside and out by Hoek Design Naval Architects, with MCM acting as the owner’s representative.

Halekai is the fourth hull in the Truly Classic 128 series, which features a classic hull shape and modern underwater configuration. It was built by the same team that delivered the Truly Classic sailing yacht Vijonara.

The interior décor meanwhile, which is inspired by the history and culture of Hawaii, was penned by New York studio Ken Fulk Inc.

This is the fourth hull in the Truly Classic 128 series penned by Andre Hoek and the second completed by Pendennis following the delivery of Vijonara last year.

Speaking about the project, Andre Hoek previously said: “We are proud to be involved in this project for a repeat client who previously owned a smaller yacht in the truly classic range. The great experience working with Pendennis on Vijonara has definitely had an influence in the decision to build again with them.”
