Rob Parmentier has been named president and CEO of Cairo, Ga.-based Sailfish Boats.

The former CEO of Marquis Yachts will take over for the retiring Paul Hoppes, who founded Sailfish in 1986 in Florida and led the company for 34 years.

“I am excited to join the team at Sailfish Boats and look forward to jumping right in to push and move Sailfish forward to become a stronger presence in this vibrant and exciting market segment of the boating industry,” said Parmentier in a statement.

Sailfish Boats partnered with Georgia Oak Partners in 2017 to manufacture Sailfish’s line of center consoles, dual consoles and walkaround models from 22 to 36 feet. Part of the Seminole Marine Group, the facility also builds SouthWind Deck Boats at the Georgia facility.

“Paul leaves incredibly big shoes to fill as his DNA permeates through the entire Sailfish brand,” said Georgia Oak’s managing partner Michael Lonergan, “[We] are confident that Rob is the right guy to help write this next chapter given his dedication to excellence in boat building, supporting dealer success, and taking care of customers. The future is bright and we are all very excited for the Sailfish family.”
