SUZUKI LAUNCHES TWO NEW FOUR STROKE OUTBOARDS

Suzuki has launched two new four stroke outboards, the first in their class to offer all the advantages of drive-by-wire technology.

The DF115BG and DF140BG both feature the company’s proprietary Suzuki Precision Control drive-by-wire technology, already proven on its larger models of 150HP to 350HP.

Mark Beeley, national sales manager for Suzuki GB’s Marine Division said that the company was excited to be able to bring another Suzuki first to the UK market. “The proven precision control technology that these new models offer has proved to be a really popular feature in our larger outboards by providing smooth and instant throttle control,” he said.

Fuel economy

“It adds the advantage of less friction and resistance compared to the mechanical type that use control cables and, with the integration of our unique Lean Burn Fuel Control, these outboards deliver improved fuel economy over a wide range of speeds."

Fuel efficiency has increased over the existing DF115A and DF140A models by as much as 5% to 7% in testing. Other improvements include a 40 amp alternator on both models that delivers improved output and battery charging performance at low idle speeds.

Suitable for a wide range of boats, the redesigned cowling incorporates a new air intake structure with improved water separation and a silencer – resonator system to attenuate engine sounds. To make routine maintenance easier, the oil filter can be replaced by removing the upper engine cover.
