T. Fotiadis designs 95m hybrid superyacht concept Ultra2 with safe room

Berlin-based design firm T. Fotiadis has announced the launch of its latest design, the Ultra2 yacht.

Coming in at 95-metres, this hybrid yacht concept promises to be both sustainable and hardy enough to reach remote destinations.

With clean masculine exterior lines, the designers opted for oversized window panels to enhance the views on board and to merge with outdoor elements.

Ultra2 features bespoke interior spaces that includes a unique, safe “core” room – a central contemporary suite designed as a diplomatic-grade secure meeting environment. Privacy and security is a top priority for the Ultra2 designers.

From the construction process to the operational running of the yacht, the concept plans to be supported by military standard counter-intelligence protocol and crew training.

The superyacht is driven by the all-electric Azipod propulsion system and is powered by hybrid diesel-electric motors. Methanol fuel cells operate continuously to keep the puffer batteries charged during activities such as port operations and low-speed cruising to ensure there is always enough energy for both the electric motors and yacht’s systems.

This remotely-monitored and environmentally-friendly power solution significantly reduces the yacht's thermal and acoustic impact, and minimises the need for service and maintenance.
