Project M: Nick Stark Design unveils 81m catamaran concept

Australian studio Nick Stark Design has unveiled an 81-metre catamaran concept that comes equipped with two helipads, named Project M.

The concept hosts an impressive 2690GT of interior space, while its 22-metre-long beam affords for an array of amenities both inside and out.

Speaking about Project M, designer Nick Stark said: “The size of the interior combined with the efficient catamaran platform gives you essentially a high-performance private island.”

The entirely private owner’s deck features its own Jacuzzi and lounge. Aft, the owner’s suite boasts his and hers bathrooms to port alongside freestanding baths. This area flows through to an exterior space including a pool which at night benefits from purpose-built lighting and a DJ system.

Below, aft of the wheelhouse and offices on the main deck is an intimate lounge with a grand piano and theatre room. Elsewhere, huge windows illuminate the guest accommodation on the main deck and there are several opportunities for panoramic views.

“The key was to bring the outside in. The extensive use of glazing makes this a yacht of light,” said Stark.

Other exterior highlights include a viewing lounge forward on the main deck, equipped with ample seating. Project M’s two helidecks, one located aft on the sun deck and the other forward towards the bow, provide the opportunity for offshore travel. The project also boasts three tender compartments, with one stored aft between the hulls that serves as a beach club deck when raised.

Project M follows the studio's 64 metre superyacht concept named Project Grace, which was presented in August 2021.
