New crane for Shoreham Port

The UK’s Shoreham Port is expanding its fleet with a new 35.8 tonne crane that will be used to handle a variety of cargoes including timber, steel, bulk cargoes and biomass.

Shoreham Port has been working with EH Hassell and Sons and Sennebogen Cranes for the supply of the 880 special Classic Mobile, needed to carry out the additional work load.

“Our terminals are all fully stocked and we are utilising every bit of space available. The delivery of the crane will enable our team to perform safe and efficient loading and discharging of cargo, ensuring that our customers have a quick turnaround time at Shoreham,” said Alan Motterham, commercial/operations director, Shoreham Port.

The new crane joins port’s current fleet of two Sennebogen 870 Special Mobile – 24.2 tone lift capacity cranes, one 880 EQ Tracked – 38.3 tonne lift capacity crane and one 880 Classic Mobile – 33.1 tonne lift capacity crane.
