Malcolm Wood joins SuperYacht Company as consultant

SuperYacht Company is pleased to announce that we have appointed Malcolm Wood as superyacht consultant. Wood will assist SuperYacht Company with analysing the historic fleet and will prove to be a valuable asset to the company’s trademark philosophy of being the most comprehensive superyacht news and information source in the world.

Wood has a long and impressive history in the industry, and is known as the creator of the very first database of yachts over 18 metres, as well as the founder of Wood's International Register and The Wood Report (later The Yacht Report).

Wood worked as an analyst, publisher, editor and private consultant for 30 years before turning his attention to the historical aspects of the market. He maintains a vast archive of yachts over 18 metres with the intention of identifying surviving yachts and completing an extensive database of all large yachts built since the early 1800s.

SuperYacht Company Director, Merijn de Waard, comments on the appointment, stating, “With a high demand for qualified and unrivalled intelligence in the industry, we are excited to appoint Malcolm Wood as a consultant within SuperYacht Company. With a notable higher interest in classic yachts and with requests for proper due diligence, Malcolm is the person who really knows everything there is to know about the history of superyachts, and can provide this highly sought after information both accurately and passionately.”
