Renowned as the most glamorous Regatta in the Mediterranean, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta once again is set to host a flotilla of the world’s most notable and award winning sailing superyachts for four days of exhilarating racing and dazzling social events from June 2 – 6, 2015.

With the new ORCsy handicap rule in place, first implemented at the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and St Barths Bucket, it assures close and competitive racing in the emerald waters of the archipelago of La Maddalena off the northern coast of Sardinia.

Tony Rey, tactician on board Marie and a participant in the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in the Caribbean, declared: “This kind of racing is spectacular. The ORCsy rating couldn’t ask for a better soft launch. This event at YCCS was absolutely spectacular and the perfect way to introduce it. The fact we had a few different winners, close finishes: that’s what we want and that’s what we got.”

As famous for its social programme as it is for the racing, the 2015 edition of the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta will not disappoint. Yacht owners and crew members will come together at the Welcome Cocktail Party at YCCS on the eve of the regatta; all participants will be treated to a Pizza Party in the Piazza with live entertainment; the Loro Piana Owners’ Dinner on the YCCS terrace promises to be a night to remember and guests will party the night away at the fabulous Phi Beach Party. As tradition dictates, the regatta will close with the prize giving ceremony and farewell cocktails in Piazza Azzurra.
