Feadship superyacht Royal Romance spotted on way to sea trials

Dutch superyacht builder Feadship’s latest new launch, Royal Romance, is on the move to begin her sea trials. Feadship launched its 92.5 metre superyacht hull 1005 in October 2014 at its Makkum shipyard.

The steel and aluminium motor yacht is nearing completion and will be one step closer after sea trials commence.

Royal Romance’s build has been shrouded in secrecy, but after her launch, exterior details are seeing the light of day. She boasts a pool that measures 12 metres long by four metres wide and 1.4 metres deep, which can be emptied in under three minutes. The pool flows into a waterfall, cascading over the transom, which is partially constructed of LED-lit glass. The yacht’s exterior light plan includes lighting up this waterfall feature.

With a gross tonnage of 2,900, she has spacious accommodations for 14 guests and 22 crew members. Seymour Diamond designed the interior, while Feadship’s in-house team was responsible for the yacht’s exterior styling and naval architecture.

Lloyd’s registered and MCA compliant, Feadship’s Royal Romance is expected to be delivered to her owners next month.

Sea trials on the 83.5 metre Feadship superyacht Savannah, which narrowly had to squeeze through locks and bridges on her way to the sea, are currently underway, as seen in this picture of Savannah in the mist that Feadship posted. Sea trials will also begin shortly on Feadship's largest yacht yet, Symphony, previously known as hull No 808.
