Frers-designed Wally 110 sailing superyacht in build

Wally’s new 33.5 metre sailing superyacht, designed with Frers Naval Architecture, is in build.

The Wally 110, which is being developed for an existing client of the Italian builder, uses state of the art pre-preg carbon technology to give a displacement of only 67 tons.

The sail area will be 538 square metres and the rig will have swept back spreaders and no running backstays, and she will draw 4.80 metres. Under power, Wally predicts a 12 knot performance with a Cummins QSB 6.7 engine installation. The Wally 110 will feature a flush deck and a sail handling system with self-tacking jib and push-button sail trimming, and the yacht will have twin helm stations.

The new Wally 110 will feature a slim coach roof exterior styling with a large, social cockpit amidships and a sun bathing area aft. The interior layout and design, by Wally and Luca Bassani, features a forward owner’s suite with two large separate beds for comfort under sail. There are also two en suite double guest cabins, a main saloon, while the crew and service area features a galley, crew mess, two double cabins and engine room. There will be accommodation for six guests and four crew members within a beam of 7.47 metres.

The mould of the Wally 110 sloop, signed last June, is now completed. The lamination procedures have started and will be finished beginning of 2015. Delivery is scheduled for summer 2016.
