RADINN ELECTRIC POWERED WAKEBOARD

A working prototype that could change the face of wakeboarding

Love to wakeboard? Don’t have a boat? Radinn has you covered. Their electric powered wakeboard lets you ride the waves without the towing power of a gas-guzzling motorboat. Designed by wake boarder and water sports enthusiast Philip Werner, the electric wakeboard actually began as a side project, but gradually became something bigger. In 2013, Werner founded Radinn with Alexander Lind, and the project quickly became a prototype that will soon be a consumer product.

The board is controlled by a wireless remote control, and the ride is very similar to a traditional wakeboard. Thanks to removable bindings, beginners can start out on their knees or stomach, while advanced users can do flips and jumps. In fact, while developing the board, Lind and Werner put it through some serious testing. The duo road up a rapid, down a waterfall, took it for a spin at a wakeboard park and in the Mediterranean.

As of now, no official technical specifications are available. The team is currently still working on refining the board, however the board is currently being presented at the Cannes Boat Show through September 14th. The product is available for pre-order with an official release for summer 2015. Be sure to check out the fantastic preview video below.
